The security vendor has released two new appliances for small businesses that need more advanced protection.
BIT has previously mentioned the Check Point 600 series security appliances; now the company has now launched two new models in its more advanced 700 series.
The 700 series appliances feature firewall, virtual private network (VPN), antivirus, anti-bot, application control, URL filtering and email security, with network performance of up to 4Gbps of firewall throughput and up to 330Mbps when threat prevention functions are activated – more than enough for even the fastest NBN services currently available.
The new 770 and 790 models provide enterprise-grade threat prevention against malware, dangerous applications and websites, while maintaining full control over network traffic and application usage, according to the company.
The 770 provides firewall performance of 3.2Gbps and up to 270Mbps with all protections active, and the 790 increases that to 4Gbps and up to 330Mbps.
The web based interface is designed to allow configuration by non-specialist users, and the appliances have been made with managed service providers in mind.
Where the 730 and 750 include six Ethernet LAN ports, the 770 and 790 feature 18 ports, reducing the likelihood that external network switches will be required. The optional 802.11ac Wi-Fi capability includes separate guest access.
VDSL (very-high-bit-rate DSL) and Power over Ethernet options will be available later in the year.
The list prices are US$1299 for the 770 and US$1999 for the 790, while the 730 and 750 are selling locally for A$999 and A$1,359 respectively.
