Canberra residents: check if you can use the NBN

The NBN has been "switched on" in the ACT, the government has announced. See where.

4,000 premises in the ACT can now connect to the NBN, the government has announced.

Areas where residents and businesses can connect to the NBN in the ACT now include Gungahlin and Harrison in the northern suburbs of Canberra.

Other areas where the NBN is being rolled out include Civic, Palmerston and Amaroo. Almost 20,000 connections are ready for NBN users in these areas, or are still being built.

The NBN rollout is scheduled to be completed in Canberra "in 2015".

Internet providers offering NBN services in the area are Telstra, iiNet, iPrimus, TransACT, Westnet, Internode and DevotedNBN.

Small businesses in the area can get help making the most of the NBN at the new Gungahlin Digital Hub and Enterprise.
