Three million ANZ Access Advantage Visa debit card holders can now access their cheque or savings accounts via Apple Pay to make in-store purchases and withdraw cash from participating businesses.
Those ANZ customers can choose eftpos SAV or eftpos CHQ as payment options instead of Visa, when using their iPhones or Apple Watches to pay.
The Commonwealth Bank is also expected to make Apple Pay available soon. Last year, it announced that it would make the cardless payment method available to its customers in January 2019.
NAB and Westpac don’t offer Apple Pay yet.
ANZ is touting the convenience and security of Apple Pay, which doesn’t share customers’ card details with shops.
