Google's new My Business is intended as a one-stop point where current and prospective clients can find out all they need about your business.
Google My Business is intended to align some of the ways Google aggregates information that small businesses might already have online but spread out in several places. For example, your business might have some social media interactions with customers, photos of products and contact information posted online.
Rather than have all these in different places - which not only makes life harder for customers, it means that updates are hard work as you probably need to go to several different places to make the updates.
Amongst the capabilities of Google My Buisness are the ability to update business information on Search, Maps and Google+ from one place. You can add photos of your products and a virtual tour of your business to show customers what makes your business unique.
There's also integration with Google Adwords Express so you can see how people are finding you online.
The information you present through Google My Buisness Manage can be edited with the Google My Business Android app with an iOS app launching soon. That means you can update your customers wherever you are, whenever something worthwhile happens.
Current users of Google's Places for Business and the Google+ Dashboard are being upgraded automatically to Google My Buisness.
