Welcome to BIT.com.au, your handy wall charger recall information site. No seriously, a travel charger marketed by Anyware is the latest product of its kind to be the subject of a safety recall.
They say bad things come in threes. First a Kogan rapid charger was recalled, then one from PowerGuard. Now the ACCC has issued a recall notice for Anyware's 5 Port USB Wall Charger with Travel Adapter.
The affected chargers carry the model numbers OEM-T301-BK, OEM-T301-WH and 8WD-T301.
They were sold by various retailers, including www.catchoftheday.com.au, www.mumgo.com.au, www.groceryrun.com.au and www.scopoon.com.au.
The problem is that the enclosure can separate exposing live parts, potentially leading to electric shocks. So the recommendation is to "Stop using the charger immediately by switching off the power at the socket outlet and unplug it from the socket outlet."
Owners should contact whichever company sold the charger for a full refund.
