Product brief: LinkedIn for iPad

Overall:

It's not perfect, but LinkedIn for iPad still makes for a nice read over a cup of coffee.

It's taken its sweet time, but a version of LinkedIn is finally available for the iPad. As well as letting you catch up on what’s happening in your professional network (who’s got a new job, who’s looked at your profile, who’s got new connections, etc), it integrates with your calendar and lets you view the LinkedIn profiles of any meeting attendees.

The other cool feature is the Flipboard-style magazine layout for new updates – this mixes articles that LinkedIn has deemed “interesting” with status updates and notifications, and it makes for a nice read over a cup of coffee.

But it’s not perfect. Browsing through the updates was occasionally laggy, sometimes it doesn’t update with new content until you manually shut down the app and restart it, and you can’t specify the sort of articles you’re interested in.
