Travelling? Ditch your chargers with USB sleep-and-charge

Toshiba's business notebooks now include 3 USB sleep-and-charge ports. Good news if you're looking to lighten your travel bag.

If you're like us, you probably find you need a special bag compartment just for phone, camera, and other chargers when you travel.

Phones and cameras that can be charged via USB are a great way to lighten the load and ditch some of those extra chargers - but you need a free USB port, and the notebook needs to be on.

Toshiba's is pushing USB "sleep-and-charge" as one way to make the whole charging thing a bit easier. Select models in the new business notebook range have up to 3 USB sleep-and-charge ports, which work while the notebook is turned off.

Personally, I'm waiting for wireless charging or fuel cells - anything that gets rid of the whole "replace batteries" issue forever. But until then, this is one thing that should help.

Here is the new Toshiba Business notebook range (info supplied by Toshiba):
