ACCC to answer carbon tax questions tomorrow

ACCC to answer carbon tax questions tomorrow

Tomorrow you will have a chance to ask your burning questions about the carbon tax.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's deputy chair Dr Michael Schaper will be hosting an online carbon tax webinar on Thursday 16 August, 10.00-11.00am AEST, giving small businesses an opportunity to ask questions about the carbon tax and get the latest guidance.

"The ACCC is encouraging small business owners to get their questions ready and sign-up now. The ACCC will be providing guidance on carbon price claims and addressing some of the key small business issues which have arisen since 1 July" Dr Schaper said.

There's little doubt that the carbon tax has been one of the most confusing and divisive initiatives of recent years. In our memory, it's only trumped by the early days of the GST. The ACCC undertook a number of education and awareness initiatives when the Carbon Tax was announced and then started. The webinar is an opportunity to learn from the complaints and queries received by the ACCC, investigation outcomes to date and to link with updated ACCC guidance.

The ACCC has developed a range of guidance for businesses on carbon price claims that you can find at the carbon tax information page.
