We initially viewed this device with a fairly sceptical eye. A scanner? For the iPad? Who was this being marketed to? Well the answer, it turned out, was us, as we were soon quite impressed and charmed by turns.

The scanner works as a dock for iPad, iPad 2 and new iPad tablets. Once the iPad of your choice is in place, you’ve got one-touch scanning of documents and photos up to A4 size. The max scan resolution is 300dpi and the files are stored directly on the iPad, obviously.

It’s remarkably simple, extremely handy for anyone still stuck with a back catalogue of photos and it even charges the iPad while it’s docked.

We were also really quite taken with the design – Kaiser Baas has produced something that will actually look good on a desk. For the price, this is a very handy iPad accessory.
