Telstra changes post-paid contracts

Telstra changes post-paid contracts

From October 1, Telstra will change the charging blocks on post-paid mobile phones from 30 seconds to one minute

An eagle-eyed reader has sent in this page on the Telstra website, detailing the telcos changes to its post-paid contracts, regarding how call blocks are charged. Quoting directly from the Telstra website:

"Effective 1st October 2012, standard national voice and video call charging block will change from 30 second to 1 minute blocks (charged at the standard voice/video rates plus connection fee). This means the charge for calls will automatically be rounded up to the nearest minute.
For example if you were to make a 1 minute 30 sec voice call, you’ll be charged for a 2 minute call."

On the same page Telstra warns users that "generally you’ll find that you may be more likely to use up more of your allowance quicker due to the changes."
