Never used a database?

This free FileMaker event in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland looks like a useful way to find out if a database could solve a few problems for your business.

Let’s face it, free seminars are part infomercial. But they can sometimes be an extremely handy way to quickly get your head around a topic without spending hours on Google and Wikipedia.

We’ve already explained here how taking your business digital can help you work smarter in the way you order stock. One of the key ingredients is a database.

A well-known example is Microsoft’s Office Access, but as our reviews have pointed out, there are simpler alternatives like FileMaker.

If you want to know more, FileMaker is holding what sounds like a useful event in Sydney and Melbourne where you can learn to “save time and money by automating and streamlining time-consuming functions” with FileMaker 12.

Importantly, you don't need to have used a database before. Both “experienced spreadsheet users” and “people new to databases” can attend, says the event web page.

Interestingly, the event will also cover FileMaker on the iPhone and iPad.

For the more technical, the event will cover: “enhanced container fields, fast and streamlined charting and conversion planning, all supported by stunning new layouts; themes, styles, and tools.”

The following event details were provided to us by FileMaker. We advise checking all times and event details on the event registration page:
