Welcome to BIT.com.au - About us

Confused by technology? Introducing BIT (Business IT), the new site for the 2.7 million small businesses in Australia.

Cloud services, broadband, CRM software - these are technologies that might be affecting the market you do business in. What can they do for your business?

BIT (Business IT) is a new web site that aims to help the 2.7 million small businesses in Australia with technology.

BIT will feature practical, easy to understand advice, buying guides and tips. More importantly, BIT will help explain the big tech trends that might affect your business, so you don’t get left behind.

And while you might have someone to advise you about IT, you still want peace of mind before spending your money. Keeping up with technological change is not easy, especially if you own and run your own business.

On this site, you can learn about:

  • Selling online - Brad Howarth lays out three practical ways a business in the bush can take advantage of the Internet and eventually, the NBN. Read it.
  • Working smarter and saving money – Nate Cochrane tells the story of a house builder that has saved thousands of dollars by digitising all its job documents and drawings so that everyone sees the same versions, at the office and the worksite. Read it.
  • Making your customers happier – Anthony Caruana introduces a basic building block of doing business in the digital age: the server. Find out what on earth a server does and how it could help you. Read it.
  • Four guest columnists explain a technology and how it can help your bottom line. Read it.
We also have guides to the essentials like saving money on your phone bill, halving your printing costs, backup and laptops.

Why not find out when we have new tips and articles by getting our free email newsletter? Or, you can Like our Facebook page or follow us on Twitter and we’ll keep you in the loop about new articles.

We would like nothing better than if you dropped us a note to inbox@bit.com.au telling us a bit about the experience your company has had with technology.

This is an exciting time for BIT, a new site with new opportunities and possibilities. We look forward to watching our site grow and your business grow too.
